Saw this Humbleteam project for Podium today. That Pantone 185 red is so loud it almost hurts my eyes after looking at it too long. They're using this huge red disc in the wordmark that breaks right past the cap height and baseline. It looks cool on those motion reels with the dark stage backgrounds, but I can't imagine trying to use that much heavy red for a full dashboard without it getting exhausting. The way they did the business cards with the blind-debossed letters is pretty clever though.
>the letter O expands into a solid Pantone 185 red discIt's a nice touch for print, but I wonder how they handle the actual UI components. They're calling it this modular system with these interface cards, but if everything is tied to that one circular spotlight motif, things might get messy fast when you have more data on screen. It works for a brand identity showcase, but I'd be worried about accessibility or just general visual noise in a real working environment. The technical P monogram from the radial coordinates is definitely the best part of the whole thing.
