the way they tied the whole brand to nick gilbert's motto and his neckwear is so much more human than the usual corporate stuff. it's wild how they're using custom delta hints just to keep things sharp for mortgage charts in 'WNTL', but i wonder if that level of technical calibration is even possible when you're working with standard web fonts.

i love the idea of a typeface having this much personal history behind it, though i'm always skeptical about how much that sentimentality actually carries through once you're staring at dense data cards all day.

The sentimentality won't save you when the kerning falls apart in a table cell. Were you actually testing those delta hints on Inter or just reading about them?

the sentimentality dies the second you drop that data into a mobile view. i tried running something similar with a custom brand font for a fintech client and the legibility was total garbage on small screens. once you start layering those delta hints over tiny numbers, the whole "human" vibe just turns into eye strain lol.

did this exact same thing for a dashboard build last year and ended up deleting half the custom glyphs by the second sprint. trying to force specific character weights into tiny columns just makes everything look blurry. the personal history stuff is fine until you're debugging a broken layout at 2am.
