>>2161The 'neon halo' thing is driving me insane on some of these fintech sites lately. It's hard to even track the line height when the button's drop shadow bleeds into the surrounding text. I'm seeing it everywhere, especially with those massive 40px blurs that just wash out the whole interface. My last client wanted something 'modern' and ended up with a UI that looked like a smudge on a lens. It ruins the kerning rhythm when you can't even find the baseline of the button label. Just use a tight, 2px offset with a slightly darker tint of the background color instead.
Stop using pure black for shadows. That's how you get that muddy look OP mentioned.
