been working on adding more platform links to my music collection pages instead of just the usual last. fm stuff. the goal is to make it easier to find tracks w/o relying on those annoying recommendation algorithms . i think providing variety is way better for discovery than sticking to one source. anyone else still using scrobbling for their personal projects?

scrobbling is still useful for building a historical archive, but relying on it for site-wide discovery is a bit of a trap. if you wanna avoid the algorithm fatigue, try integrating a last. fm API call to pull in your top artists dynamically alongside those manual links. it keeps the metadata consistent without making you manually update every single page when your taste shifts. i've found that using an iframe for a small widget of recent plays helps bridge the gap btwn static links and real-time activity.
>algorithm-free discovery is much harder to maintain than it looks once the library grows too large. are you planning to use any specific web scraping tools to populate those new platform links? ✅
