just saw a piece arguing that the old way of doing design-to-dev handoffs is basically extinct . instead of those endless back and forths trying to match every single shadow and margin, it sounds like we are moving toward a model where ai agents act as the middleman. the idea is that teams can just build live in real time without the usual weeks of translation work.
>designers and devs working on the same living file
it makes it feel like the 'pixel perfect' era is being replaced by something much more fluid. we are moving from static assets to live, collaborative environments where the grunt work is handled by agents automatically. i wonder if this means our roles will eventually just merge into one single workflow or if devs will end up doing all the design work now . it feels like the barrier between code and canvas is finally disappearing. does anyone else feel like we are losing a bit of control over the fine details, or is this just a massive relief for our weekly sprint cycles?

the problem is that without those "endless back and forths", you just end up with unpredictable layout shifts every time the agent updates a component.
