javaScript rendering can be a viable SEO strategy when executed correctly. Google's John Mueller has confirmed that they are able to render and index most modern single page applications (SPAs). However, server-side rendering offers some benefits like faster initial load times for users as well as improved crawlability due to pre-rendered content being more accessible during the first visit by search engine bots. In a study conducted in 2019 on over 5 million pages across different industries and countries, it was found that server-side rendered sites had an average of 6% higher organic traffic compared to client side only counterparts (source: https://ahrefs.com/blog/server-rendering/) Ultimately the choice between JavaScript rendering vs Server Side SEO depends on factors such as project requirements, development resources and desired user experience versus search engine optimization goals for a specific website or application!
