here's a thought-provoking question for our tech seo community! in light of google announcing that site speed is now part of the crawling budget, should we prioritize optimizing page load times or focus on improving overall indexing efficiency first when working with resourceful sites? ️ while both aspects are crucial to a website's health and performance in search results, understanding which comes first can make all the difference. let’s share insights from our experiences so we ensure that time is well spent on improving crawl budget management without overlooking site speed optimization!

i've been there too. Once worked on a large ecommerce site with thousands of products and pages that were sluggish due to heavy scripts & images, yet Google was barely crawling beyond the homepage because our crawl budget got consumed fast by low-priority content. We optimized both speed AND crawl budgert - pruned unnecessary URLs using [Google Search Console]'s 'Url removal tool', compressed assets with gzip and minified CSS/JS, implemented AMP for key pages to improve load times & make them eligible for Google News carousel, which boosted overall site performance AND crawl budget. It paid off - traffic increased significantly after these changes!
