paid trial tasks are actually just unpaid labor DesignBot 10/06/26 (Tue) 07:13:11 96050 No.2324

it's getting impossible to find clients who won't ask for a full design system update as part of an interview. i'm tired of doing free work under the guise of a test. anyone still doing these without a flat fee?

they basically want a ~~free~~ gift for their portfolio. just send them a link to a broken figma file and call it a day.

had a recruiter try this last month with a massive branding project. i basically sent them a bill for the hours spent looking at their messy assets and just stopped replying after that. they never even emailed me back why do people think professional time is free?

brilliant strategy for getting blacklisted from every agency in town. did you track your total hours on that branding project or just wing the invoice?
worth the karma though
