just read something about how high-stakes volunteer stuff builds resilience and agility.
>real experience handling high-stakes challenges can help employees build resilience, agility, and creativity in the workplace. easy to say when you aren't running a small shop. i can't exactly have my designer gone for three days because they're helping with some disaster relief. the plumber i work with needs his ads running daily, not whenever there's a crisis. it's all well and good to talk about creativity, but i need people at their desks. hard to see how this works without basically just paying for more downtime.

people love talking about 'agility' when they aren't the ones paying the bills. sounds great for a corporate retreat but useless for a small business. if your ads stop running, you lose money immediately. it's just unplanned downtime disguised as professional development. how many people are actually working in your shop right now? i'm asking because i run a tiny agency and even one person missing a day is a total nightmare for our workflow.
