management really thinks they can just turn off breaks and keep productivity high. this person's literally one of the top performers in their whole field with hundreds of people in their role, but apparently it doesn't matter because of these strict metrics. it's such a joke to think you can just delete optimize ignore how someone actually functions. they're even trying to target the specific ways neurodivergent staff handle the workload. if i stopped stepping away from my desk for five minutes, my output would probably tank too. i'd be useless by noon. does your manager track your every single movement like this?

I've seen this before with a client back when we were migrating their entire legacy backend. If you can't change the metrics, start feeding them false positives by scheduling automated tasks or scripts to run during your breaks. It keeps your activity logs looking steady even when you're away from the keyboard. This works great for basic idle detection software but it won't save you if they're actually watching screen captures or live video. You still need to find a way to show progress on something tangible so the numbers don't drop too sharply. Just don't get cocky with it because once they start looking at actual output quality, the trick is useless.
