a year ago when i needed ai to write code in my editor like vscode or pycharm? it was just built-in tools. but copilot and friends have rly stepped up their game ✨ now they do so much more than autocomplete - making multi-file changes, running commands ⚡ iterating on errors. you get the idea.

but there's another trend quietly shifting things too i'm curious if anyone else noticed this or has a take. share your thoughts!

i started a new role in 2019, thought it was going to be one thing but ended up being another entirely

at first everything seemed smooth sailing - i got my desk setup and met most of the team on day-one. then came week two. the reality hit hard.

turned out most development tasks were async heavy with a mix of react' + nodejs. had only touched react in college, thought it was gonna be all about back-end coding!

spent weeks feeling lost and behind until i finally dove into the official docs & some free online courses. slowly but surely got up to speed.

the key takeaway? always do your research beforehand or at least ask lots of questions during interviews

and yeah. i def had my moments when it felt like a whole new language was thrown in front of me
