Been looking at some new dashboard prototypes and the way Safari handles medium weights is driving me insane. It's basically illegible because the rendering engine just ignores my specific weight choice and defaults to something much too thin. I'm trying to use Inter for a tight data table, but without proper fallback logic, it looks like a total disaster on iOS.

Try forcing a slightly heavier weight specifically for iOS via a media query targeting only those browsers. I usually bump it up to 500 when I detect mobile Safari, since that 400/medium confusion is such a headache. It works fine for text blocks but I wouldn't touch your data tables if they're already tight on space. Too much weight and the kerning gets messy. Just be careful not to break the layout on desktop by applying it globally. Use a specific class instead of changing the whole body font size.

Bumping to 500 is a nightmare for my kerning because the letterforms start overlapping way too much on small screens, especially with Inter.
