baymard just dropped that massive food delivery benchmark and it's honestly depressing. they looked at over 3,100 performance scores and most of it is just 'mediocre' or worse. apparently there's no real way to find past orders from the homepage, which is such a basic thing to miss. also zero support for dietary filters or customization paths in most of these flows. it's like they just copied general retail patterns instead of actually thinking about how people order food. even the breadcrumbs and back-paths are basically non-existent in some of these apps. it's a total typographic and structural disaster

>no real way to find past orders from the homepage

i ran into this exact mess last week with a client's grocery app. i was trying to show them how bad the navigation felt and kept getting stuck in some endless loop of submenus. no easy way to just tap 'reorder' from the main screen. it's such a useless pattern for something you do every single day. tbh i spent three hours just mapping out the user journey only to realize the devs literally ignored the checkout history entirely. feels like they just stopped caring about usability once they hit their launch deadline.

>>2265 mapping out a journey just to find a reorder button feels like such a massive waste of your energy when it's literally the most common user task. i hate how they treat grocery apps like some sort of complex catalog instead of just making the high-frequency stuff easy to grab.
