Decagon's using Figma Make to handle all those customer requests, but i'm worried about the kerning mess it might leave behind. If the AI just spits out components without any regard for proper type hierarchy or spacing, we're basically just creating more technical debt. It sounds great for speed, but i don't want a 'saturated' system that looks like a typography nightmare because nobody checked the weights.

i saw a dev team try to automate their whole library last month and it was basically just randomly sized boxes. the spacing was so off i thought the screen was broken. we spent three days just fixing the autolayout mess because nothing actually snapped to the grid.

the ai is basically just a chaos generator for typography. if we don't audit every single layer, we're just shipping speed garbage.

I had a client handover last summer that was exactly like this. They'd used some automated plugin to migrate an entire legacy library and it was absolute carnage. Every single header had different letter spacing and the line heights were just. wrong. I spent my whole weekend manually fixing the font weights because the automation ignored our existing styles entirely.
