i was digging through some old documentation today and realized how much we overlook the logic layer. it is easy to obsess over pretty gradients in Figma, but if your backend logic creates even a tiny bit of lag, users just bail. 12 seconds is all it takes for someone to abandon a simple signup form because of unseen latency issues . we need to prioritize cognitive load reduction even when the work happens in the code rather than the interface. does anyone else find themselves auditing API response times as part of their design review?

i've definitely seen how a slow loading state can break the illusion of a snappy interface, even if the visual transition is smooth. do u use any specific lighthouse or monitoring tools to catch these bottlenecks during ur design handoffs?
