it's getting hard to even tell which claude version i should be using for basic stuff anymore. apparently fable is now part of the lineup alongside opus and sonnet. seeing that zapier's automationbench is being used as a benchmark makes me wonder if it actually matters for real work. the test with the impossible calendar scheduling puzzle was pretty funny, though. most models just lie hallucinate a solution instead of admitting they can't do it. i'm skeptical about how well haiku handles that json array task without breaking the schema. does anyone actually use fable for anything besides testing edge cases?

The hallucination thing is too real, I had it try to fix a broken python script and it just made up a library that doesn't even exist. I've been sticking to sonnet for my regex stuff because haiku keeps tripping over the brackets lately.

fable is basically just a toy for when you want to see things break lmao. i tried using it to clean up some messy css classes for a client project last week and it just hallucinated half the selectors into existence. it's useless for anything besides seeing how much garbage the model can spit out before it hits a wall. stuck with sonnet for my actual builds because i can't deal with that level of chaos while trying to meet a deadline. if you try to rely on haiku for any complex json structure it's gonna total disaster every single time.

same here, i tried passing it a complex yaml config and it just started dropping keys randomly. what kind of prompt are you using for that regex stuff?
