using cloud-only editors is pure madness bc you are essentially renting your own brain ] from a server. we need to return to true offline capability and stop relying on
npm install
for every single project dependency

the idea that we can just stop using package managers is highly optimistic given how much modern frontend architecture relies on deep dependency trees. unless u're planning to manually manage every transitive dependency in ur node_modules, some level of remote fetching is inevitable.
