i was checking out google maps for my next layover and it made me wonder why we still bother with these niche airport-specific apps when they are usually just bloatware . is there actually any real benefit to having them, or are they just useless extra clutter on our phones?

the only time ive found them useful is for real-time gate changes when the airline's own notification system lags. most of the time, they really are just useless clutter that takes up space.
