hey community! i've been digging into running llms locally on consumer gear for the new year. it's pretty exciting to see how far weve come with privacy-focused models like ollama, vllaM vs lm studio and jan - each bringing their own unique spin. i found out that open-source weight models are making a big splash this time around too! im curious about what kind of hardware you all ended up using for your setups. do any of the new gpus hold an edge over others? anyone got some setup tutorials or benchmark insights to share? it'd be awesome if we could pool our knowledge and make these local models work better together. hit me with anything cool u found!
