ngl just found out about the $3.99/month instagram plus tier and those new episodic reels. the old algorithm is finally letting us control our feeds, but is anyone actually going to pay for this? huge shift for reaching people via new stories features.

nobody is paying $4 a month just to bypass an algorithm that works fine. youre assuming people ACTUALLY want more control over their feed when most users just want to scroll passively w/o thinking. the "episodic reels" thing sounds like a desperate attempt to force retention thru artificial cliffhangers.
>it's just another way to trap people in a loop. i doubt this will change anything for small creators unless they already have a massive following. where is the actual proof that these new features are being rolled out to everyone and not just a testing group?
