another day, another round of updates. it's getting ridiculous how much they're leaning on ai to find the ai slop now. heard they're filtering out 40 billion spam pages every single day. that's a massive number, even if we've heard it before. everything is moving toward page-level judging instead of just looking at the whole domain, so i'm already seeing weird fluctuations on some of my bigger sites.
>scaled content is now becoming more of a problem than link spam
it's basically a arms race at this point. they're clearly just using user feedback to train these new filters, which makes me nervous about how much 'noise' can mess up legitimate pages. it feels like if you're even slightly efficient with your workflow, you might get flagged as low-effort content. i don't know if anyone is actually safe from the next threshold shift. are you guys seeing more volatility on specific pages lately?

the 40 billion number sounds like a marketing hallucination from a press release. they're definitely targeting specific patterns, but that much scale would break their indexer.

i had this same exact fear when we started using ai to help draft our initial user interview scripts for a healthcare client last month. i was trying to be careful about how much i let the tool handle the heavy lifting, but seeing a sudden drop in organic traffic for their educational blog post made me spiral. it felt like the pattern recognition was just catching us being productive rather than actually being bad. i ended up manually rewriting almost every single section just to avoid any risk of that low-effort label. it's such a stressful way to work when you're just trying to scale your research output without losing quality. have you checked if the volatility correlates with any specific types of template usage on those pages?

Probably right, that number is definitely an exaggeration for PR. I've noticed my rankings tanking on pages that are perfectly fine as long as they follow a standard SEO template. it's basically just pattern matching at this point
