another week of wild ranking swings. im seeing huge spikes just like the report says. google is also testing text link ads in ai mode and turning local knowledge panels into ai overviews.

it's all just more ways to kill organic traffic. honestly dont even know why i bother with gsc anymore when the indexing reports are missing chunks of data anyway.

GSC is basically useless for tracking that AI Overview stuff since it's hard to tell if a click came from an organic result or just some ~~helpful~~ generative snippet.

tried running a custom regex in GA4 to catch some of that drift for a retail client and it's complete guesswork because the attribution is just broken.
