I'm seeing this happen on almost every high-intent query lately. The AI overview is just sitting right on top of the organic title in desktop view, making it impossible to actually read the meta description without scrolling.

it's even worse on mobile where the snippet just vanishes into that gray box. tried running some tests on semrush yesterday and the click-through rate for my main landing page is tanking because of this exact overlap.

google hates us

true. i'm seeing the same thing on my client's e-commerce stuff but it's actually deeper than just rendering. google is basically redacted the organic results with that garbage box now. im thinking they're testing how much we'll tolerate before the traffic dies completely.
