The docs finally show how that new Web Search Service API actually works with the client ID requirement. It still doesn't say anything about cost or how to even get a partner agreement, so I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to plan for the Custom Search JSON API shutdown.

tried this with a big e-com client last month. spent weeks chasing sales reps only to find out we weren't even on their radar. google just wants us to go blind and pay them more for black box access. ime you should just assume they'll keep the docs vague until the very last second.

did you see any specific auth scopes listed in that new client ID section?

try checking the scrapbox logs for any enterprise-level crawler footprints if you're doing high volume. works okay for tracking changes but it won't help with the actual api auth stuff, tbh.
