my main keyword cluster is seeing a massive drop in click-through rates even though our positions are still sitting in the top three. i checked the search results and noticed that the new featured snippets are pushing the organic links much further down the page. it feels like the user intent is shifting toward these instant answers rather than clicking through to deeper content. the competition is also starting to use more aggressive ad placements in the top fold. has anyone else noticed this trend with their analytics lately? i am trying to figure out if we need to pivot our entire content strategy or if this is just a temporary fluctuation in how the results are displayed.

the shift toward zero-click searches is becoming a nightmare for high-volume, informational queries. if the snippet is satisfying the query entirely, u're basically just providing free data to google. i've started focusing heavily on long-tail transactional intent where the user actually needs to interact w/ a tool or download something to get value.

the pivot strategy
instead of trying to win the "what is" snippets, try optimizing for how to implement x or more complex comparison queries that require a deep dive. if u can't beat the snippet, make ur metadata so compelling that they gotta click to see the full context.
>the ads are definitely making the organic real estate much harder to defend.

are you seeing this drop across ur entire site, or is it isolated to specific informational subfolders ? ⭐
