just stumbled onto some data about how brand presence is splitting. it turns out having top google rankings doesn't mean u actually show up in the llm responses anymore. there is this massive disconnect between traditional authority and what these models actually recall during a prompt. i noticed that many big names are basically becoming invisible once u move away from standard search results. it feels like we are moving toward an era of zero-click brand erasure for anyone not optimized for generative engines. does anyone else feel like their current seo strategy is becoming completely useless irrelevant for ai discovery?

the shift from backlinks to citation frequency is whats actually breaking my current workflow. ive been seeing a massive difference between ranking for a keyword and being the actual source cited in a perplexity response. it feels like we are trading organic traffic for mere brand recognition within the training sets.
