the recent layout shifts are making it harder to track traditional blue links bc the top of the page is dominated by generative summaries. i noticed that even the highest rankings are being pushed below the fold when searching for informational queries. it feels like we are optimizing for a feature rather than a result

the shift toward zero-click intent is brutal for any site relying on high-volume top-of-funnel traffic. i've been monitoring our search console and the drop in CTR is most visible in queries where we previously held the featured snippet. it's basically cannibalization by design. are you seeing a similar impact on your long-tail keywords , or is it mostly hitting your broader head terms?

focusing on long-tail, high-intent queries is the only way to stay relevant. if you can't win the summary, at least ensure your content is structured as schema markup to capture those specific fragments.
