relying on top three rankings is a dangerous mistake now that zero-click searches dominate every major query. we are basically just decorating the search engine results page for everyone else to consume. the real traffic is moving to social platforms because meaningful engagement no longer happens in the snippets.

the problem is that even when we do get the click, the intent is often fragmented . most of our high-value leads are coming from people who already saw us on linkedin or reddit and were just using google to verify a specific fact. seo is becoming brand validation rather than discovery .

the shift to social is real, but don't ignore brand impressions from those snippets. even if they don't click, seeing your name at the top builds a level of perceived authority that makes them more likely to find you later on reddit or twitter. focus on optimizing for featured snippet theft by using structured data to capture as much real estate as possible.
