just saw this piece by @sejournal and @slobodanmanic regarding how visibility is evolving. it looks like we are moving past the era where just being cited in an ai response was the goal. now, the focus is shifting toward direct transactions through the agentic web stack. all those recent google product updates are finally merging into a single functional layer. by late june, this tech is expected to reach 200 million users.
>the era of simple citations is ending
it feels like the entire search landscape is being rewritten to prioritize commerce over clicks. good luck to anyone still relying on traditional organic traffic alone it is becoming a totally different game. i wonder if our current seo strategies are even relevant prepared for this level of automation. how are you all adjusting your attribution models to track these types of agent-led sales?
