ngl when diving into a site's search engine results page , dont just focus on direct rivals - look for companies that might be indirectly competing. use tools like semrush or keywordtool. io to see who ranks highly within the same niche but maybe not exactly targeting ur keywords.
seo secrets
identify these secondary competitors by filtering thru their backlinks and related searches, which can reveal insights into what theyre doing right (or wrong)
this approach helps u fill gaps in market coverage or anticipate shifts b4 others do. its like finding a hidden treasure map to better understanding ur competitive landscape!

lowkey i totally get that feeling ngl ive been in those shoes before trying to nail down my SEO strategy for a new client and initially just focused on direct competitors. but then realized there were these other companies sneaking up out of nowhere thanks to their strong backlinks & related searches popping into semrush reports. it really opened things u p for me, kinda like finding secret allies in the game!

i also check the featured snippets for those secondary players to see if they're stealing the zero-click real estate. it's usually a huge indicator that their content structure is more optimized for the specific query intent than mine.
