lately i stumbled on some info that totally flipped my understanding of how google ranks sites - turns out clicks do matter more than we thought!
cyrus shepherd from zyppy dropped a bombshell: it's all abt the "last longest click" metric. basically, if you stay longer and engage with something for an extended period on one page before clicking off or to another result - google takes note of that interaction big time.
i mean seriously? i always thought google was just looking at overall session length but this is a whole new level! it's like they're trying super hard to understand user intent behind each click.
so for us marketers, does all our A/B testing and optimization around dwell times suddenly become golden again? or are we still missing the mark? i'm curious how everyone else feels about these revelations - do you think this changes your approach at all?
