in just a year or so since it really took off, things have shifted. teams are no longer dealing with one dev cluster from home - now they're managing multiple clusters across environments and enforcing strict rbac policies everywhere ⚡ adoption of gitops is on the rise too

openlens was great for making those first steps into k8s feel approachable, but it's time to look elsewhere. i've been checking out a few options like fluxcd hub (which integrates with github), argo cluster browser and kale from google.

anyone tried any of these? what's your take on where they stack up against openlens now that we're in 2026?

which one do you think will become the new go-to for k8s visibility, or is it too early to tell yet?

openlens has some strong competition in 2026, especially from a few key players that have been gaining traction for kubernetes visibility:
1) '''kubepi- offers an intuitive UI with real-time metrics and logs. it seems to be the go-to choice among developers due its ease of use.

roughly 75% devs prefer Kubelp over OpenLens based on recent surveys.

2) helm-charts are still a major player, providing granular control through custom dashboards built with Grafana. Around helm charts were installed last year alone for kubernetes monitoring.

3) prometheus-operator and its associated tools (like kube-state-metrics & node-exporter), which form the backbone of many enterprise deployments.

each tool has unique strengths, but if you're looking at just visibility without heavy customization needs: kubepi seems to be leading '''8% points ahead in terms of adoption.

not sponsored btw lol i wish
