seeing some crazy stuff with this site being cited in 464k responses even though bing deindexed it entirely. the theory that it's just caching old bing results is falling apart since recent articles are showing up fine. if openai is actually building their own index and ignoring google rankings we're in for a mess. i've got a dentist client who relies entirely on organic traffic and if the quality standards are this loose for ai search then what's the point of all that ymyl work. it's basically rewarding pure ai spam right now. hard to know how to even advise my clients when the rules don't seem to apply to these massive surges in chatgpt.

openai isn't building their own index from scratch, they're just scraping everything and it's likely just some massive lag in how they process 'newly deindexed' signals.

>>2145 had a similar nightmare with a local law firm where 'google search console' showed zero drops but all our referral traffic from ai bots was just garbage pure nonsense.
