just stumbled across a list of 18 kpis that actually makes sense for the current landscape. instead of just obsessing over organic traffic, it focuses on things like ai visibility and brand mentions too. i usually rely on Ahrefs for keyword rankings, but tracking how often we show up in generative responses is becoming a massive ranking factor.

it's getting harder to tell if our content is actually winning when the click-through rate drops because of ai overviews . anyone else shifting their reporting away from traditional clicks toward brand impressions?

ive been monitoring brand impressions in search console to see if were still getting eyeballs even when the clicks tank. its a weird feeling seeing ur reach stay high while ur traffic just disappears into the overview.

ive started tracking share of voice via brand searches in search console to see if the zero-click traffic is at least driving top-of-funnel awareness.
