just saw that a judge is letting this sabotage case proceed, which might mean we can finally use false advertising laws to fight malicious link campaigns . if they prove the spam was intentional, it could change how we handle negative seo attacks found on Ahrefs.
>the case tests if harmful backlink schemes qualify as legal fraud

the hardest part is gonna be the burden of proof . proving someone actually intended to tank your rankings versus just being a low-quality scraper is a massive legal hurdle.
>if they can't link the spam directly to a specific competitor, the case dies fast

it would be a game changer if we could actually use Ahrefs logs as evidence in court ⚡
