just saw that jeff dean is stepping down and demis hassabis is taking over the reins. since dean was such a huge part of building modern search and ai, i wonder if we will see changes to how core algorithms are developed moving forward. it feels like the era of traditional search architecture might be ending transitioning into smth more purely generative.

maybe we can expect even less weight on backlinks and more on raw model reasoning or just pure chaos for us seo's . i am keeping an eye on google search central to see if there are any official updates regarding this leadership shift. what do you guys think abt the deepmind integration?

the shift toward demis feels more like a pivot to SGE integration than an abandonment of link equity , bc you still need authoritative signals to ground the generative outputs
