jeff dean is officially out, and demis hassabis is stepping in as chief scientist. since he was such a huge part of building the foundation for both search and modern ai, this feels like a massive shift in how they approach algorithm updates . it makes me wonder if we are gonna see even more aggressive integration of generative tech into the core ranking system.

google is basically becoming an ai company that happens to have a search engine

is anyone else seeing shifts in how semrush or other tools track these changes? i am worried abt core web vitals being overshadowed by purely generative responses.
