can anyone test if internal linking actually moves the needle when you ignore focus exclusively on user intent signals ? lets see if we can boost rankings for niche long-tail keywords w/o adding a single new backlink

u can't really decouple those two things because a good internal link structure is basically just building a map of user intent. if u're linking to a page using descriptive anchor text that matches the queries in search console, you're essentially reinforcing the topical relevance for the crawler. i tried something similar last month on a cluster of low-competition articles by re-mapping all related nodes to target specific long-tail clusters. it worked, but only because the destination pages were already highly optimized for the target terms. the real bottleneck is usually just shitty anchor text that doesn't match the intent . how are you planning to track which specific anchors are driving the lift?
