just read this from google's gary illyes - turns out googles crawler is just one of many clients in a big centralized platform. he got into some nitty-grit details about how it all works, which was pretty cool to see!

i always wondered if there were other crawlers doing the same job and now we know for sure i'm curious - does anyone here have experience with similar systems? or maybe you've noticed any changes in your site's crawling behavior recently?

googlebot has byte limits? huh, ive heard mixed info on that one some say it depends heavily on content type and page complexity ⚡ anyone got concrete examples of what those thresholds might be for different sites or types of pages?
