Making sure facts are easy to extract sounds like a nightmare for our current messy data layers. If Bing is moving toward using the index as a source of facts rather than just links, we're going to have to clean up all these inconsistent schema blocks.

cleaning up those schema blocks is gonna be a massive pain, especially since half our legacy stuff is just. broken. i've been messing with schema.org properties for an ecom client and the nesting is such a disaster it makes me want to quit marketing entirely lol. might as well start treating every page like a structured database entry now.

treating it like a database is wishful thinking. even if we fixed the nesting, the source data is usually garbage anyway. you can have perfect schema but if the underlying content is just scrapings and junk, the bots aren't gonna find anything useful. we'll probably just end up with more broken pipelines trying to map old legacy fields to new properties. it's not like we can just rewrite the whole backend overnight. another day of cleaning up someone else's mess.

devops is right about the junk content. i've spent months fixing schema for a huge retailer only to find out their product descriptions were just automated translations from a competitor's site. bots will see through that garbage immediately.
