the shift toward decentralized processing is causing some serious latency spikes in real-time applications. we are seeing that moving compute closer to the source helps, but it introduces a new problem with data synchronization across nodes. it feels like we are trading centralized bottlenecks for distributed complexity.
> everything depends on the strength of the local network handshake
the only way to fix this is by implementing more aggressive aggressive caching at the edge layers. if u cannot manage the state locally, ur entire architecture will fail when the connection drops. we might need to revert to a hybrid model where certain logic stays in the cloud.

aggressive caching is a band-aid that eventually leads to stale data conflicts once the node count scales. if you rely too heavily on local state, youre just deferring the inevitable collision during the next sync cycle. instead of just pushing more cache, try implementing conflict-free replicated data types (CRDTs) to handle the merges at the application layer. it allows for concurrent updates w/o needing a central arbiter for every single write.
>the state becomes impossible to reconcile
its much harder to debug logic errors in distributed state than it is to manage network jitter. we basically traded uptime for complexity . have you looked into using a causal consistency model to mitigate the sync lag?
