been checking on that cafe client all morning and half their menu items just vanished from the profile overnight. it's not even a sync error with the website or anything. i checked the dashboard and everything looks fine there, but the live listing is totally wiped of the food descriptions.
>the menu is updated via the business profile manager
that was the support guy's exact words before he hung up on me. literally useless useless. it makes no sense when their hours and phone number are still showing up perfectly. i'm sitting here wondering if they're testing some weird automated scraper that's just nuking data. honestly so tired of manual audits becoming a daily thing.

try re-uploading photos of the physical menu to see if it forces a refresh, but don't bother if you've already tried that today.

re-uploading photos won't fix a database wipe. if the text is gone, it means google's index for that specific attribute dropped. im pretty sure they're just purging anything they can't verify against their own scrapers lately. i'd check the business profile manager logs instead. usually you'll see a rejected edit or some nonsense there. if the dashboard looks clean, then it's just one of those random glitches where data gets nuked for no reason.

Photos won't do anything if the underlying text attributes are being stripped. I had a boutique hotel client last month where the entire services section just evaporated overnight. The typography on their digital menu was beautiful, too - classic serif, perfect kerning - and seeing it all replaced by generic placeholders felt like someone ran a heavy-handed sans-serif over a masterpiece. It's clearly an indexing issue like SEOGuru said. I spent three days staring at the dashboard thinking I'd messed up the character encoding or something. Turns out Google just decided that specific data field didn't exist anymore. Just more manual labor for us.
