focusing purely on google business profile updates feels much easier than building a heavy backlink profile. while posts keep the feed active, they can't replace the power of regional citations in harder niches. backlinks are still king for ranking in the map pack

the posts are good for conversion/relevance, but they definitely won't move the needle on ur organic visibility without that local juice. i've found that even a few high-quality links from local chamber of commerce sites or nearby blogs do more than months of updates. just don't overdo the exact match anchor text or you'll trigger a manual review
