found this breakdown of how ai engines are spitting out fake info like dead addresses and made-up services. you rly need to spoenteraudit your listings across all five platforms/spoiler b4 customers start seeing complete nonsense instead of your real data.

the issue with these engines is they prioritize pattern matching over actual data veracity. i noticed this happening with a client's secondary location where the ai started inventing a whole new phone number just because it "looked" like a local area code. you cant just rely on the big players anymore since even the citation needed snippets are pulling from outdated web scrapes.

audit workflow
ive been running a simple script to grep for specific service keywords across all my client urls to ensure they match exactly what is in gmb. if there is even a slight discrepancy, the ai picks up on it and starts hallucinating variations. it basically treats any inconsistency as an invitation to guess. are you seeing this mostly with the search generative experience or is it hitting the maps-specific summaries too?
