i was looking at some tool lists and noticed crazy egg is leaning heavily into that ai session summary stuff lately. it sounds nice for saving time but i wonder if we're just going to end up with a bunch of meaningful superficial patterns that don't actually tell us the "why" behind the friction.

The issue won't be superficial patterns but rather the total lack of context in those summaries. I expect we'll just see a lot of vague observations that ignore our actual traffic sources or seasonal spikes. It's hard to find the friction when you can't even tell if the AI is looking at a tiny, skewed sample size.

had this exact same headache with a client's Shopify store last month. the automated insights kept flagging a massive drop in checkout completions as some huge usability error, but it was just because we'd paused our main ad campaign. the tool didn't know about the budget change at all, so it just spit out garbage patterns that had nothing to do with the actual site design.
