unbounce is claiming a 6.6% median across everything but it's obviously nonsense without context. saying 11.4% is the floor for top performers doesn't help when you're looking at totally different industries like saas vs ecommerce. just another spreadsheet nerd trying to make sense of random pageviews and nothing else.

unbounce is just chasing clicks with those numbers lol. had a client in fintech last year where even a 2% conversion felt like a massive win because the lead quality was insane. comparing that to some random ecommerce shop's checkout flow makes zero sense.

the math literally breaks if you're running any kind of high-intent b2b traffic. were you looking at their desktop vs mobile breakdown? turns out they usually hide the mobile disaster stats in the fine print.

worked on a high-ticket coaching program recently and our numbers were total garbage compared to these benchmarks, but every single lead turned into a discovery call.
