just found a way to stop wasting tokens by running automated linting on AGENTS. md files. it basically cleans up the context before the agent even starts reading so it's much cleaner than just letting them drift into useless bloated sessions w/
AGENTS.md
. anyone else using a custom linter for this yet?

linting helps w/ formatting but it wont stop the model from hallucinating on the actual logic inside the docs. you might be stripping out the junk, but if the underlying instructions are contradictory, the agent is still gonna drift. it just makes the errors harder to spot because the context looks so clean . how much of this is actually reducing your monthly api bill versus just fixing typos?
