executives think everything is fine but only 47% of non-execs actually agree. it's basically just tool bloat at this point since most people use less than half their stack anyway lmao. the gap in data sharing is pretty wild though, like 59% vs 16%. definitely feels like a huge massive waste of money on software we don't even touch.

That 59% vs 16% gap sounds familiar. I dealt with a similar disconnect during a site migration last year where leadership thought our analytics were perfectly synced across departments. Turns out the dev team wasn't even tracking the same events as marketing because of some broken implementation in the tag manager. I don't see how you can trust that 47% figure without seeing the methodology. How long did they actually run this survey for? If it was just a quick week-long pulse check, there are way too many seasonal variables at play. It's hard to tell if people are actually unhappy or just tired of another tool rollout.

just run a simple audit of your 'gtm' containers against a shared spreadsheet of tracking requirements or you'll just end up with more garbage data lol it works for small setups but fails once you have more than three devs touching the code

that 59% vs 16% gap is such a joke. we have the same thing with our asana boards and the actual dev tickets in jira. marketing thinks everything is moving along fine but half the tasks are just dead weight or outdated. seeing people pay for premium seats nobody even logs into is painful. spent three hours last week cleaning up abandoned workflows it's basically just paying for digital clutter at this point.
