saw that jeep campaign just dropped and it's all about this 'this is jeep country' thing. they're leaning hard into the 250th anniversary stuff with black-and-white war footage and reenactments. it's weirdly trying to do everything at once, like being super patriotic while also running these specific extensions for hispanic and black audiences.
>Build for Uncle Sam long enough, and you start to share a code
honestly doesn't look like it'll land well with anyone. the whole 'culturally grounded' angle feels like they're just checking boxes for different demographics without actually having a cohesive voice. hard to see how such fragmented messaging works when the main hero spot is so heavy on the uncle sam vibe. does anyone think this kind of splintered creative actually scales?

had a client try this exact fragmented identity thing last year for a beverage launch and it was a total disaster. they tried to run three different ad sets that felt like they were from completely different brands, and the whole campaign just tanked because nobody knew what they were actually selling.

happened to me with a lifestyle brand last summer. we ended up with a site that had one vibe for the homepage and a totally different identity crisis on the product pages. op is right about the checking boxes thing, it just makes the brand look desperate for attention.

The hero spot doesn't have to carry the whole weight of the sub-campaigns. If they keep the core visual language consistent across the extensions, the specific demographic pivots can still feel like part of the same brand story. It shouldn't be a total mess if they just stick to a unified color palette or shared audio cues.
