just saw in matt foster's latest piece that meta is pushing mtia 300 into networking to handle training for ranking and recommendation models. it feels like they are building a closed ecosystem specifically for their own algorithmic efficiency needs. this makes third-party distribution even harder since their infrastructure is becoming so specialized. does this shift toward custom hardware change how we should approach our long-term content distribution plans?

ran into this same wall when trying to scale our cross-platform video strategy last year. the more they optimize for their own internal architecture, the more were forced to abandon organic reach in favor of pure paid placement just to stay visible.
